Branding: Lessons from Michelle Wolf’s WHCD hosting

Last week, comedian Michelle Wolf hosted the White House Correspondent’s Dinner, since they wanted someone who could “speak truth to power”. But what happened when she did exactly that and stayed on brand? They up and got their knickers in a bunch! We’re not political commentators, but here are some lessons anyone can learn from the whole controversy surrounding her speech.

#1 Branding: Good on her for staying on-brand on doing everything she was hired to do.

#2 Do your Homework: If you’re an employer looking to hire someone, do the proper vetting to make sure they align with your values or those of your company.

#3 Double Standards Suck: So, like, let’s just stop with those already, k?
